The Deputy Foreign Minister, YB Datuk Mohamad Alamin will be undertaking a working visit to Stockholm, Sweden from 12 to 14 May. He is attending the EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum on 13 May 2023. It is hosted by Sweden in its capacity as President of the Council of the EU.

The forum is an initiative of the European Union to strengthen cooperation and dialogue between the EU and the Indo-Pacific. He is scheduled to participate in the Roundtable session. On the sidelines of IPMF, he is to have an engagement with several Swedish official. Additionally, he is scheduled to meet the Malaysian diaspora in Stockholm.

The visit of Datuk Mohamad Alamin to Sweden will provide an opportunity for Malaysia to further enhance its long-standing bilateral relations with Sweden. In 2022, Sweden was Malaysia’s 45th largest trading partner with bilateral trade amounting to RM4.70 billion (USD 1.07 billion), an increase of 13.2% compared to 2021.
