According to Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, the Secretary-General of PKR, PAS is perceived as a problematic party due to its frequent exit from coalitions when there is a lack of harmony. He points out that history has consistently shown PAS being the party that departs rather than other parties.

Lack of harmony in coalitions

Despite claiming to uphold principles without compromise, PAS has a pattern of forming alliances and then withdrawing from them. Saifuddin disputes the statement made by PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang that PAS is not a temporary shelter for political bargaining.

He highlights PAS’s changing positions, citing their shifting stance towards DAP during their time in Barisan Alternatif and Pakatan Rakyat. Saifuddin questions how PAS can consider DAP as an enemy of Islam when they were allies within Pakatan Rakyat for almost a decade.
