Yeah, only the clubs from Manchester have done it. With City’s defeat of Chelsea 1-0 last night, Pep Guardiola joins Sir Alex Ferguson to win 3 EPL titles in a row. Thus Man City is the only other club to do so, with Man Utd setting the record earlier.
In their game against Chelsea on Sunday, Julian Alvarez’s early goal was enough for a 1-0 victory. Guardiola now has five league titles but he is still some distance behind Ferguson’s competition record of 13. This is the third time a club has won the title for three-straight seasons. Man Utd was the first in 1998-01 and 2006-09.
However, with just two more victories in the FA Cup vs Man Utd and Champions League, he can win a treble. That would make him only the second manager to achieve such a feat. Man Utd won the treble in 1998-99.
