The Malaysian Peninsula Immigration Service Union (KPISM) has issued a reminder to all foreign nationals entering the country to abide by the established regulations and laws. The chairman, Khairil Niza Khairuddin, emphasized that every country has its own set of rules that must be respected, including by tourists and foreign travelers.
Malaysian Immigration urge foreigners to respect laws
Referring to a recent viral incident involving a Singaporean couple questioning the actions of a Malaysian immigration officer, Khairil stated that a thorough investigation is underway and urged patience until the matter is resolved. He emphasized the importance of complying with laws and regulations when traveling abroad, mentioning that Singapore also has its own laws in place.
Additionally, he cautioned against sharing unauthorized videos or images of the Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine Complex (CIQ) at the Sultan Iskandar Building (BSI), reminding individuals to respect the existing laws governing such areas. He further encouraged cooperation among the various agencies operating within the BSI to address any issues effectively.
