Pasir Salak MP Jamaluddin Yahya has proposed that individuals in the LGBT community should be categorized as having mental health issues during the debate on the Mental Health (Amendment) Bill in the Dewan Rakyat.

Kapar MP Halimah Ali supported this suggestion and indicated that she would incorporate it into her speech. Halimah further emphasized the prevalence of mental health disorders in the country.

She expressed that she agrees for relevant ministries to collaborate in addressing these issues holistically and developing a comprehensive roadmap for their resolution.
