Heriot-Watt’s Watt-A-Run 2023 Aims To Promote Good Health And Well-Being

Heriot-Watt University Malaysia (HWUM) is organizing the Watt-A-Run 2023 event in Putrajaya on 27th May 2023 to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) Goal 3, focusing on good health and well-being. Jointly organized by HWUM Student Association (HWUMSA), HWUM AHappierU secretariat, and JomRun, Watt-A-Run 2023 aims to promote healthier living and a balanced lifestyle among Malaysians. 

Heriot-Watt University Malaysia’s Watt-A-Run in line with UN’s Sustainable Development Goals

The event expects to attract over 1,500 participants and is aligned with HWUM’s positive education initiative called ‘AHappierU,’ which embraces the 10 keys to happier living by Action for Happiness. The event includes a 5km run, a concert featuring talents from HWUM and other universities, Zumba sessions, and interactive activities promoting sustainability. HWUM’s Head of Registry and Academic Support Project Sponsor, Nicholas Ong, expresses excitement about this student-led project, emphasizing the inclusive nature of the run. 

The event welcomes individuals of all ages and backgrounds, fostering unity in support of the UN SDGs and encouraging physical health and environmental consciousness. The student leaders highlight the event’s transformative impact and the celebration of sustainability and health through collaboration with other universities and sponsors.
