The unfortunate rise towards fake luxury items has a number of factors that contribute to it. One of the biggest reasons is due to the brands increasing their prices while significantly allegedly reducing their quality, case in point Chanel. It seems that the Gen-Z audience are willing to spend on fakes rather than the original pieces.
Fake luxury items on the rise?
A prominent YouTuber who talks about designer brands recently made a video regarding this. She states that the luxury brands are doing this to themselves by making the quality similar to the fakes. Most customers today are more than willing to buy a bag for an Instagram photo, rather than for it to be lasting for years.
An article written back in late 2022 depicts that the fake market is worth over $3 Trillion. Apparently, this is three times more than it was in 2013. As we all know, there’s no stopping these brands from increasing their prices regularly, but there are a number of ways in buying authentic pieces for a lower price.
One example is, either visiting or contacting a sales associate in Johor Premium Outlets. The outlet mall has brands with the likes of Gucci, Versace, Prada, Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta and Prada. Furthermore, their sales can reach up to 70% off for seasonal items. Another recommendation is to shop vintage or pre-loved.
