Police have confirmed that the suspicious objects found beneath the car of activist and lawyer Siti Kasim are improvised explosive devices (IEDs). The District Police Chief of Brickfields, Assistant Commissioner Amihizam Abdul Shukor, stated that they are still unable to determine whether the explosive material is active or not.

The IEDs will be handed over to experts for analysis before more detailed conclusions can be provided. Siti Kasim, the vehicle owner, has informed the police that she has not received any threats. Further investigations are ongoing. Authorities closed off nearby roads to allow the Bomb Disposal Unit to conduct tests with assistance from the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department.
