Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim sent a legal demand letter to PN Chairman Muhyiddin Yassin, seeking RM200 million in damages for alleged defamation over Felda settlers’ debt disposal.
Anwar demanded a public apology within 24 hours. In response, Muhyiddin will sue Anwar for defamation, claiming the documents Anwar presented did not concern the RM8.3 billion debt waiver but the issuance of sukuk and revolving credit to Felda.
Muhyiddin Sues Anwar
Muhyiddin accused Anwar of incompetence and stated that the documents revealed Anwar’s lack of understanding as finance minister. Muhyiddin demanded an unconditional apology, and as Anwar didn’t comply, he plans to file a defamation suit.
