Minister of Economy Rafizi Ramli says the government has allocated RM80 million to install solar panels at government buildings. Electricity cost savings created from solar will also not be deducted from the budget of government agencies.

Meanwhile, Khazanah Nasional, together with UEM and Itramas, will develop a Renewable Energy Zone. The zone will be home to a one-gigawatt hybrid power plant. The project has attracted RM6 billion in global investments, Rafizi says. These fall under the NETR which is opening up a “hydrogen gateway” in Sarawak. The projects are to turn the state into a hydrogen hub.
