In a significant operation at KL International Airport Cargo Complex on August 29, the Customs Department successfully dismantled an international drug distribution network by confiscating 436.2kg of ecstasy valued at RM32 million. This monumental seizure represents the largest drug apprehension at the airport in the current year.

They found colorful pills suspected to be ecstasy (containing MDMA types 3 and 4) in 12 boxes, while the remaining 24 contained bricks. The shipment was falsely declared as “tools” to deceive authorities. A preliminary investigation linked the drugs to the Netherlands. No arrests have been made due to fictitious import documentation.

This marks the fifth drug seizure from the Netherlands at the cargo complex this year, potentially serving over 2.1 million addicts. The case is under investigation per Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
