Philomena Dexclyn Siar, a 40-year-old Bidayuh woman from Sarawak, made history by winning a gold medal at the 55th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships in Kathmandu, Nepal. Competing in the Women’s Sports Physique (over 165cm) category, she defeated her rivals from Vietnam and Thailand.

This achievement marks her as the first Sarawakian woman to secure a title in the Asian competition. She had previously achieved top-five rankings in the 2019 edition in Batam, Indonesia, and the event in Maldives last year. She expressed her happiness, gratitude, and relief at winning the gold and is now preparing for the upcoming World Championships in South Korea this November.
