Pardon Najib Now? PH Will Not Agree Says Rafizi!

PKR deputy president and Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli says PH will not agree to a pardon for former prime minister Najib Razak. “We will discuss it within the unity government and we will discuss it in the Cabinet,” says Rafizi on BFM’s The Breakfast Grille. “But I think it’s a given that PH will not agree to it.” After DPM Zahid Hamidi successfully pushed for a DNAA in his case, there were wild comments that PH is now corrupt and will also free Najib.

Rafizi has just shot down this idea showing that PH is committed to the rule of law. Najib was convicted in July 2020 on charges of abuse of power, money laundering and criminal breach of trust over SRC International funds amounting to RM42 million. He spent his first of 12 years in jail and was fined RM210 million.
