The Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs emphasized the need for such information to ensure the efficiency of interventions and to streamline the initial assessment of actions against those responsible. Armizan disclosed that the Ministry had received 142 complaints regarding rice price increases nationwide through Operation Jamin, initiated in July.
Furthermore, he highlighted the Ministry’s efforts to deter price exploitation through 295 inspections in Sabah since July. He also noted the establishment of a Business Research Unit on September 1, tasked with addressing relevant complaints and initiating preliminary investigations to tackle supply chain cartel issues.
