There was a debate on X regarding the traditional Malaysian clothes. Some users claim that these outfits are supposed to cover one’s entire body as per the religion’s regulations. However, others state that the original sarongs were more revealing than what they are today.
Old Traditional Malaysian sarong was not covering the aurat
X users are calling the current way Malaysians are styling the sarong is modern, as it is done to cover the aurat. There are some users who are denying the past culture. Despite this, there are some who vehemently disagree with this statement saying that men with impure thoughts are defending this idea.
The more conservative viewpoints are that some are interested in seeing women exposing themselves through traditional outfits. However, comments like these are upsetting the indigenous people who are still wearing their outfits in such a manner until today.
