Malaysian Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, has expressed Beijing’s support for Malaysia’s New Industrial Master Plan 2030 (NIMP 2030). During a meeting with Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang, Anwar highlighted China’s positive reception of the Asian Monetary Fund (AMF) proposal as a lender of last resort in the region during financial crises.

Anwar emphasized that the Chinese leadership supports Malaysia’s Madani Malaysia initiative and the AMF concept. He sees great potential for ASEAN and countries in the Campur Tiga region, including China, to collaborate in realizing the goals of the AMF, originally proposed after the Asian Financial Crisis, to ensure regional economic and financial stability.
