It appears an actress, Nina Smith recently went viral regarding her looks. She states that she was insecure for not looking mixed race enough as she looks more Malay. However, this appeared to grind the gears of netizens accusing her of all sorts of things. When in reality, she was just expressing how she felt.

Users misconstrued Nina Smith’s initial statement of sharing her insecurities. However, in a video of her explaining herself, she states that due to her name, others tend to question the validity of her origins. She states that at 7 years old, a school nurse pressed her on the uniqueness of her name.
Others were accusing her of wanting to look like the European standard of beauty. She was recently criticized earlier for this. Regardless, there are many ways where a mixed race person can feel insecure, especially when closed minded people who would typically ask offensive questions.
