In today’s world, it is fairly common to find USB ports scattered all over the place. This is simply due to the fact that it is universal and it enables guests at restaurants or other places to charge their phones without a power brick. However, there are claims that it could be used for hacking your personal devices.
USB Ports in public, is it safe to use?
Users are stating that these public USB Ports can lead cyber hackers to your personal devices. Some are dubbing it as “juice jacking” and it is rather serious. They claim that this tactic has troubled a number of innocent people.
Others are showing concerns regarding the USB’s power source. If it is from an improper one, it might blow your phone up. For obvious reasons, this is highly dangerous. Regardless, it’s safer to leave the house with a fully charged phone or bring a power bank with you at all times.
