A 15-year-old student was raped by two Rohingya men in a car in the Klebang area. She was found between 2 and 3 am at a Batu Berendam playground by her brother’s friends who searched for her when she didn’t return home. Melaka Chief Police, Datuk Wira Zainol Samah, said they received a report from the victim’s brother at the Batang Tiga Police Station on the same day.
Teen victim assaulted by Rohingya men
Investigations revealed that the victim left home on September 14 around 2 pm with a 14-year-old Rohingya boy. The first suspect took her on a motorcycle before meeting the second suspect at a restaurant in Klebang. They then assaulted her in a car near the beach before leaving her at a playground in Batu Berendam. Both suspects, unemployed and a trader, possess UNHCR cards.
This case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape, carrying a minimum prison sentence of five years and a maximum of 20 years, along with whipping. This is the second crime involving Rohingya ethnic group members reported this year, following an incident in January where a 12-year-old girl was molested by a Rohingya man in Semabok.
