New: 68 years not too Long a Wait For Perak Born Woman

A stateless woman from Perak, Malaysia, at the age of 68, has achieved her lifelong dream of officially becoming a Malaysian citizen. She received her Malaysian citizenship proof and blue Malaysian identity card (MyKad) shortly after Malaysia Day.

68 years!

Although she has lived in Malaysia her entire life without citizenship from any country, this recognition has brought her immense joy. Her children, who are Malaysian citizens, expressed their happiness for her and mentioned that she could now live a normal life as a Malaysian, enjoy government benefits, and soon have the opportunity to vote.
