Malaysia’s Department of Statistics (DOSM) recently released data on life expectancy, showing a slight improvement of 0.3 years over the past decade. The current life expectancy in Malaysia stands at 74.8 years, with women having a higher life expectancy than men by 4.9 years.

The data also revealed variations in life expectancy based on ethnicity, with Chinese citizens having the highest at 77 years. Interestingly, non-citizen residents in Malaysia have the highest overall life expectancy at 81.1 years, with Chinese women in this category having the highest at 80.2 years. Selangor emerged as the state with the highest life expectancy at 78.3 years.
