The popular thoughts and opinions on the HSR trains are varying as users feel that it is needed for this country. Meanwhile, most feel that the current daily flights to neighboring regions are just as efficient and affordable. The country would need a large amount of capital to build and maintain these rail lines.
HSR Trains, is it worth it for Malaysia?
A rail engineer states that building and maintaining a HSR Train network in Malaysia will be astronomically costly. Furthermore, it would be the rakyat who will pay for all of these. In Indonesia, they have implemented these rail systems, but for the price of being indebted to foreign nations for the next few generations.
Others state that the ticket prices will most definitely be more expensive than what locals can afford. Users also add that the train system will be built 90% on Malaysian soil, but it would probably be used by Singaporeans the most as they are the ones with the stronger financial positioning.
