PAS Follows Umno Steps in No-contest for Top Leadership Posts Now

PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang and four other top leaders of the party will retain their positions in the upcoming election for the 2023–2025 term. The party’s secretary-general, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, announced that elections will only be held for the 18 central committee posts, as no new nominations were received for the top five positions.

Umno Steps

This unopposed retention of leadership includes Hadi Awang and Deputy President Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man. PAS’ main general assembly is scheduled for October 20-22, with elections and assemblies for its youth and women’s wings set for earlier dates. In the past, Umno also banned the contest of the top posts in the party. Look what happened to the party now!
