A video of Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad dated 2008 has resurfaced on the X platform but with an appeal for the enemies of PM Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to give him a break on the accusations of sodomy. The video shows a fresh looking Mahathir making gestures with smiles telling a crowd how he ‘tangkap’ Anwar adding that the latter was jailed without any reason.

In the past, when the video surfaced in 2008, many said this was Mahathir being sarcastic but it also led to confusion and a sense of retribution for some people. When Mahathir met Anwar in 2016 while the latter was in the courts, the event went viral. It was, at that time, Mahathir’s way of apologising to Anwar. We know how Mahathir went ahead to help get a pardon for Anwar in 2018. Then came the Shaitan Move.
