Storm Now Delays Arsenal’s Champions League Flight to Lens, Disrupting Preparations

Arsenal’s Champions League preparations took a hit as severe storms delayed their flight to Lens by nearly five hours. The team was stranded at Luton airport as adverse weather prevented their scheduled 4:15 pm departure. 

Arsenal flight delayed

Eventually, they took off after 9 pm. Mikel Arteta had to cancel media commitments, and the delay disrupted their plans for the away game. UEFA rules mandate pre-match duties by 8 pm local time, but Arsenal won’t face fines this time, as the delay was seen as force majeure. Despite the setback, the team is determined for the challenge Lens poses in France.
