Southgate Now Skeptical About FIFA’s Multi-Continent World Cup Decision

England’s national football manager expressed his concerns about the sporting integrity of the 2030 World Cup, which will be hosted on three continents. FIFA recently announced that Spain, Portugal, and Morocco would host the tournament, with the opening three matches held in Uruguay, Argentina, and Paraguay. 

Southgate unexcited for multi-continent World Cup

He questioned the logistics of the competition, with teams having to play matches in South America and then travel across the globe to continue the competition, potentially with varying home advantages for different teams. 

He also noted the significant differences in playing locations, such as Buenos Aires and Casablanca, which could impact the competition’s fairness. Southgate’s concerns were shared by many in the football community.
