A man suffered severe injuries to his face, legs, and abdomen after being allegedly stabbed by a chicken rice vendor during a brawl at the Lebuh Cecil public market. The 26-year-old victim, now in stable condition, was swiftly transferred to Penang Hospital for treatment.

The Northeast District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Soffian Santong, reported that they received a distress call around 3 PM. Upon reaching the scene, they discovered the victim covered in blood due to the alleged stabbing.
The 51-year-old suspect was successfully apprehended around 6:30 PM in the Lebuh Macullum area. The incident appears to have stemmed from a debt-related issue, as initial investigations suggest.
