Pingshan, Hebei, China - Not the Indonesian glass bridge
The investigation into the shattered glass flooring on a bridge at The Geong tourist attraction in the Limpakuwus pine forest, Banyumas Regency, Central Java, Indonesia, has revealed significant safety oversights. The glass layer on the bridge was found to be extremely thin, measuring only 1.2cm.
Additionally, the workers responsible for construction and safety lacked expertise, relying on tourism experience. The bridge had not undergone proper maintenance or safety testing, lacked safety measures like nets and warning signs, and ticket attendants was not knowledgeable about safety procedures. The incident has raised concerns about safety and sustainability at Indonesia’s tourist destinations.
