Erik ten Hag Now Defends Fernandes: “He’s an Example and Always Gives Energy”

Bruno Fernandes’ late goal secured Manchester United’s victory against Fulham, and manager Erik ten Hag defended the playmaker amid criticism. Fernandes, who has netted three late winners this season, received backlash, with former players suggesting he be stripped of the captaincy.

Ten Hag countered, praising his energy, pressing, and recovery, asserting he was an example and that every player makes mistakes. United, recovering from consecutive 3-0 losses, displayed determination and sacrifice in the match, though their front three struggled to score. 

Ten Hag confirmed Marcus Rashford’s absence was due to a minor injury, not disciplinary action, as United prepares for a pivotal Champions League clash with FC Copenhagen.
