Azilah Hadri, Altantuya M*rderer, Now Transferred to Sungai Buloh Prison

Despite the Federal Court rejecting his appeal in 2020, the d*ath penalty for ex-police officer Azilah Hadri, convicted of Altantuya Shaariibuu’s murder, remains unexecuted. Currently held as a death row inmate at Sungai Buloh Prison, Azilah, 47, was transferred from Kajang Prison in September 2022.

As he awaits the state clemency board’s decision, the National Police Chief confirmed the release of another accused, Sirul Azhar Umar, from Villawood Immigration Detention Center in Sydney. Discussions with relevant authorities, including the Attorney General and local courts, are underway to repatriate the former Special Action Unit member.
