Mohamad Hilmi, 50, pleaded not guilty to soliciting RM250,000 from REE Mining Group Company’s Director through an intermediary. The alleged bribe aimed to expedite mining licenses. Additionally, he’s accused of receiving RM150,000 for the same purpose.

These charges, under the Anti-Corruption Act, may lead to a 20-year prison term or fines five times the bribe’s value, following Judge Suzana Hussin granting him bail at RM45,000. The case resumes on January 12.
