The rally that gathered the top brass of the opposition that was ponteng from Parliament Yesterday has some repercussions. Many are confused why did the PAS-PN went all the way to Putrajaya to protest in support of Shariah laws in Malaysia. It gave the impression the Shariah laws are not applicable or not used in Malaysia.

The Federal Court, led by Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat, emphasized that it is not attempting to undermine Islam or the Syariah Court while hearing a constitutional challenge to Kelantan Syariah Law. The focus is on the competency of the enactment. In yesterday’s proceedings, submissions were heard from various parties, including the Malaysian Bar, Sisters in Islam, and state Islamic councils. The court has reserved its judgment, scheduling a later date for the verdict.
Nevertheless, lawyer Nik Elin Zurina Nik Abdul Rashid has hit back at Perikatan Nasional for spreading disinformation ahead of its protest against her challenge of controversial Shariah criminal laws in PAS-led Kelantan heard in Federal Court.
