Malaysian wushu sensation, Wong Weng Son, clinched gold in the men’s changquan at the 2023 World Wushu Championships in Texas. The 31-year-old dazzled the judges with a stellar performance, amassing 9.826 points and outshining 78 competitors.

Victory for Wong Weng Son

This victory marks his second gold on the global stage, the first being in 2017. Adding to the glory, Wong secured a silver in the men’s qiangshu event, narrowly edged out by China’s Zhang Qingchun. Malaysia’s wushu stars, including Clement Ting Su Wei, contributed to the nation’s fifth position in the medal standings with a total of 10 medals.
