Tourists bound for Thailand must carry at least 15,000 baht or RM1,992 in cash, as stated by Dewi Lestari, Minister Counsellor of the Indonesian Embassy in Bangkok. Complaints arose after Indonesian travelers were denied entry.
Although not new, this cash requirement has been enforced for a decade. Visitors need a valid passport, return ticket, accommodation proof, and demonstrate financial capability. Solo travelers should have 15,000 baht, while families need 20,000 baht.
Non-compliance violates the Immigration Act, leading to entry denial. Immigration officers may conduct checks, so tourists should adhere to these regulations to enter Thailand smoothly.
