After winning the most loved country in the region, Malaysia scores big again with Langkawi and Penang being ranked among the top 10 best islands in Asia for 2024. They secure the 7th and 8th spots, respectively, according to DestinAsian’s 17th Annual Readers’ Choice Awards. The survey, conducted from August to November 2023, assessed destinations based on 36 categories including hotels, airlines, and cruise lines.
Langkawi dropped two places from last year, while Penang was unranked in 2023. Bali, Indonesia, topped the list, followed by Maldives, Phuket, and Koh Samui. Notably, Langkawi was also named the 9th Best Island in the World 2023 by Travel + Leisure, highlighting its global appeal.
