The Kuala Lumpur High Court has ordered a former Royal Malaysia Police officer to pay RM820,000 to two Mongolian women for sexual intercourse without consent that occurred in hotel rooms during Covid-19 lockdowns four years ago.
The court found the plaintiffs successfully proved their case against the 34-year-old officer. Damages include compensation for injury, harassment, false imprisonment, and aggravated damages.
The defendant faced charges related to trafficking and rape but was acquitted. Notably, the term “sexual intercourse without consent” was used in the civil court, while “rape” is reserved for criminal proceedings.
