A recent popular form of abbreviation for “Solat Jumaat” has been criticised due to its similarity to an alcoholic beverage. Some are calling the Friday prayer “soju” which many are rightfully finding to be disrespectful. This is especially due to the fact that alcoholic beverages are prohibited in the religion.
Others suggest having it be called solju instead of soju as the similarities to the drink would no longer be as obvious. X users find it to be funny as well as some of them were initially confused with the short form of the prayer session being used.
