17 Million Malaysian MyKAD Information ALLEGEDLY Leaked to Dark Web

One of the most crucial elements in a country is the identification system for its citizens. Unfortunately, in our country, approximately 17 million MyKAD records have allegedly been leaked to the dark web. This news has caused significant outrage among netizens.

17 Million Malaysian MyKAD Information ALLEGEDLY Leaked to Dark Web 

According to reports, the National Cyber Security Agency (Nacsa) is currently investigating the matter. StealthMole, a dark web threat intelligence firm, first highlighted the issue, stating that threat actors claim to possess MyKad data and are offering it for sale. They have shared samples of Malaysian ID cards as proof. 

Netizens speculate it could be from apps that require a customer’s identification card for verification. Certain applications, like social media platforms and investment platforms may require their patrons to provide one as proof of verification.
