SINGAPORE — A visiting tourist to Singapore claimed his experience in visiting the tiny Island state was devastating. Posting on Reddit, he described Singapore as “by far the most unwelcoming country” he had visited, citing two unpleasant encounters — one with an elderly bus passenger and another with a grocery store worker. He also said he felt people were rude.
Tourist vs Singapore
“This made me think Singaporeans are not the most friendly people,” he wrote. The post drew strong reactions from locals, with many agreeing that stress often fuels rudeness. Another traveller said in another forum that: “From the moment I landed, I felt like I was being met with coldness. Airport staff were impatient and dismissive, and whenever I tried asking locals for directions or help, I was either ignored or snapped at.”
