More than 15,000 flood evacuees remained in 188 relief shelters in Johor (4,737), Pahang (2,438) , Melaka (2,591), Negeri Sembilan (1,967), Selangor (40), Sabah (3,329) and Terengganu last night.
There were 71 relief centres, with Segamat having the highest number of evacuees (3,554), followed by Mersing (476), Kota Tinggi (210), Tangkak (297), Muar (52) and Batu Pahat (77).
The flood situation is not over in Malaysia and citizens are asked to prepare for waves of flood in some areas, like in where the second wave of flooding resulted in the opening of one relief centre in Kemaman at 9pm housing 10 evacuees from two families.
