The five-star resort The Datai Langkawi closed its doors for at least 10 days beginning today, following the discovery of 16 Covid-19 instances among its employees.

It stated that visitors who had been booked to stay there but will not be able to do so during the temporary shutdown would be provided with a full refund, a change in stay dates, or a penalty-free cancellation.

There is no information on the origin of the infection among the staff but the hotel is carrying out a deep cleaning and full sanitization of employees quarters.
