Sungai Kandis PH candidate Zawawi Mughni says around 2000 votes are missing in the final count in Saturday’s election. Some channels found to have lost the most ballot papers was Bandar Puteri, which has been a PH stronghold for a long time.

After making a police report, Zawawi says he will send a petition to the EC within 21 days to challenge the decision in favour of the PN candidate in court. Sungai Kandis state assembly witnessed a three-cornered clash between PH, PN and Muda. PN was represented by Wan Dzahanurin Ahmad who won with 28,926 votes, while Zawawi got 28,759 votes. Netizens are asking how did that happen and are not happy with reports saying the SPR believes voters brought home the voting papers in protest. Muda obtained more than 1300 votes.
Nevertheless, PH communications director Fahmi Fadzil has pinned the blame on Muda for splitting the votes in Sg Kandis, ostensibly costing the PH-Barisan Nasional alliance a supermajority in Selangor.
