Twenty-two students from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Guntong experienced stomach aches and vomiting after breakfast at a resort in Setiu yesterday. Terengganu Education Director Jelani Sulong said the incident involved students preparing for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) exam at the “Anakku Cemerlang” Camp.
Food Poisoning Incident Affects 22 Students at SMK Guntong
Initially, eight students were rushed to Setiu Hospital. Later, two more were treated at the Permaisuri Health Clinic, followed by twelve more with symptoms. Officers from the Setiu District Health Office are investigating, having taken food samples for analysis. Only one student was hospitalized; the rest were allowed to return home. The investigation continues.
