Ancient coral fossils, estimated to be around 300 million years old, have been uncovered in a 6.9-hectare area near Kampung Changkat Tualang, Perak. Discovered by researchers from the Perak Geotourism Association during their explorations, the fossils belong to extinct sea snail species such as Gastropod, Rugosa, and Crinoid.

Found attached to rocks in approximately 50 spots, these fossils represent marine life from the Paleozoic era, predating the age of dinosaurs. The significant discovery, the first of its kind in Perak’s Kinta district, showcases the rich geological history of the region. The findings have been reported to the Perak Mineral and Geoscience Department.
