KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia’s Road Transport Department (JPJ) issued 482,742 summonses worth RM25.3 million to foreign drivers between 2023 and 2025. Enforcement director Muhammad Kifli Ma Hassan said 462,835 foreign nationals were cited, with Rohingya, Bangladeshi, Indonesian, Middle Eastern, Indian and Chinese drivers among the most frequent offenders.

JPJ also seized 15,789 vehicles during the same period, with common offences including driving without valid licences, expired road tax, lack of insurance, and illegal modifications. During Ops Pewa in Kuala Lumpur on February 5 and 6, JPJ issued 330 summonses, seized 61 vehicles, and inspected 57 foreign drivers.
