Deputy Health Minister Datuk Lukanisman Awang Sauni revealed that 55% of private healthcare facilities nationwide have complied with the new medicine price display rule, with 900 out of 1,639 meeting the requirement.

The remaining 739 facilities are yet to follow the regulation. Speaking in the Dewan Rakyat, he stressed stronger monitoring and enforcement to ensure compliance. The rule aims to enhance transparency and help control healthcare costs.

A study on its impact will begin in September, guiding future policy improvements. Lukanisman also highlighted the need for a fair, consumer-focused healthcare system and addressed concerns over unchanged consultation fees for more than 30 years.
