Based on data from the Household Income and Expenditure Survey Report 2022, RM200 is estimated to be sufficient for 80% of households in Peninsular Malaysia. The government will periodically review the subsidy amount, and adjustments will be made as needed.
Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying clarified that the program’s development cost did not involve additional allocation, utilizing existing infrastructure.
