A massive discovery, if they are proven true with scientists claiming they found a crocodile that is 35% preserved with a “near-complete skull” and fearful teeth – which they examined in more detail using 3D scans and X-rays.
The surprise party is the 93-million-year-old crocodile dubbed Confractosuchus Sauroktonos has been uncovered by scientists with a baby dinosaur in its belly.
A report for Gondwana Research believes the huge croc grew to around 2.5m (6-8ft) and believe it died in a flood, with scientists saying, “the fossilised remains were found in a large boulder. Concretions often form when organic matter, or say a crocodile, sinks to the bottom of a river.”
Scans detected “bones of the small chicken-sized juvenile dinosaur in the gut”, the species, however, has not been formally identified.
