A Malaysian Army personnel from the 9th Brigade was fatally shot by a hunter during a training exercise in Sarawak’s Song district early this morning. The incident occurred around 2:45am when a platoon, resting at their camp, heard the sound of a motorcycle followed by a gunshot. Upon inspecting the area, the injured soldier was found and given first aid before being rushed to Song health clinic and later transferred to Kapit Hospital. The Malaysian Army confirmed the incident and local police are actively tracking down the unidentified suspect. Investigations into the shooting are ongoing.
