AG Demands Explanation from Shafee Over “Nazi Germany” Remark
The letter, dated June 23 and signed by Deputy Public Prosecutor Saiful Edris Zainuddin, gives Shafee seven days to explain why contempt proceedings should not be initiated.
It alleges that Shafee’s comments implied the court had failed in its duty, undermining public confidence in the judiciary. If his explanation is unsatisfactory, criminal prosecution may follow under Order 52, Rule 2B of the Rules of Court 2012.
